The Christmas Sundays - a little celebration

The Christmas Sundays (Ziemassvētku Svētdienis) is a little celebration that will take place for four Sundays.

While the whole world is slowly starting to prepare to the winter’s most anticipated celebration, this is your chance to start it early – in the centre of the city, in an inspiring atmosphere and going on for an entire month. Concerts and plays for your spirit, games and workshops, food and mulled wine for your belly, Christmas fair – for gifts and joy. In cooperation with Rimi and Children’s Hospital Foundation every Sunday the Good Deed Stop will offer everyone to take part in a charity campaign “Angels over Latvia” that will bring the most important gift to many children and their parents – a chance for health and happiness.

Every Sunday will offer plays and concerts, and workshops and activities for both children and adults. On 15 December, the family programme is full of surprises by the publishing house “Liels un mazs”, who will celebrate 15th anniversary with book readings and workshops. The festive atmosphere will be ensured by Liepaja Handbell Ensemble “Campanella”, consisting of students and teachers from Liepaja music school. The ensemble will play popular classic and modern pieces using 47 handbells. While Synergy of Love is a piano concert by an internationally recognised, beloved by critics and audiences, world’s most demanded Latvian pianist Andrejs Osokins, who will play a collection of pieces specially selected for this Christmas Sundays events.

Christmas Sundays are open from 11.00 till 20.00. Tickets are required only for concert that will take place in a specially designated part of the hall. Price - 5 EUR. Free entrance for children under 6, when accompanied by their parents. Concert starts at 18.30. Tickets available at ekase.lv
